You have been invited to a Toga Party - so when in Rome!

The Toga theme party is supposed to replicate the decadent and profligate parties held in ancient Rome and Greece where anything goes. It would not be uncommon to see couples in a corner fornicating with one another. Ancient Rome knew how to party! These days a Toga Party is a chance to have fun and most likely a few drinks with your friends and buddy's. To help you into your role we will provide some Character Tips to help you behave most like an Ancient Roman. (We are excluding the costumes that offer alternatives for Toga Parties such as Gladiators, Centurions and Goddesses - which we will provide Character Tips on individually)

If you decide to wear a sheet, there are many websites that can assist with How to Create a Toga. But why not buy a cute little Toga Costume to really stand out at your next Toga Costume?

To be a standout at your next Toga Party - try learning some Latin expressions to really get into the role of an ancient Roman.

• nulli secundus (second to none)
• qui audet adipiscitur (s/he who dares wins)
• veritas vos liberabit (The truth shall make you free)
• divide et impera (divide and conquer)
• amor vincit omnia (love conquers all)
• veni vidi vici ( I came I saw I conquered)
• bibamus, moriendum est (let us drink, for we must die)
• ad libutum (toward pleasure)
• annus horribilus (horrible year)
• audi, vidi, tace ( hear, see, be silent)
• carpe diem (seize the day)
• carpe nocta (seize the night)
• carpe vinum (seize the wine)
• Christianos ad leones (throw the christians to the lions)
• Cogito ergo sum ( I think therefore I am)
• Coitus Interruptus (interrupted Sex)
• Cum grano salis (with a grain of salt)

It may be hard to remember these Latin expression but don't forget - Rome was not built in a day!
